How do I download one of my Media Gallery files?

You must edit a video, audio, or image file you own in My Media or Media Gallery to enable the option to download it.

Note: To edit a file that someone else uploaded to Media Gallery, you would need to ask the owner to add you to the file as a collaborator with Co-Editor permission.

Important: If your video, audio, or image file is published in a UVACollab site's Media Gallery, all site participants will be able to download it once you enable the download option. To prevent others from downloading your file, first unpublish it from galleries where it appears.

Go to Home.

When you first log into UVACollab, you are placed in your Home site.  If you are viewing another UVACollab site, select the Home tab in the favorites bar at the top of the screen, or in your My Sites list, to access it.

Select My Media.

Select My Media from the Tool Menu in your Home site.

Select the item to edit.

Select the title of the video, audio, or image file to edit.

Select Actions, then Edit.

  1. Scroll down on the page under the media player.
  2. Select the Actions menu.
  3. Select Edit.

Select the Downloads tab.

Under the media player, select the Downloads tab.

Select download format(s), then Save.

  1. From the Available Formats, select the checkbox(es) for the download format(s) to enable. Original is recommended.
  2. Select Save.

Download the file.

Once you have enabled downloads, you (or anyone else who can access the file in a site's Media Gallery) may download it.

Go to the file.

To access the file immediately after enabling downloads, select the Go To Media link.

Select the Download tab.

  1. Scroll down on the page under the media player.
  2. Select the Download tab.

Select the Download icon.

A table will display listing the available download formats that you enabled.

Under the Actions column for your preferred download format, select the Download (arrow pointing down to a rectangle) icon.

Disable downloads. (Optional)

After downloading your file, you may disable downloads again to prevent others from downloading the file from a Media Gallery where it is published.

Select Actions, then Edit.

  1. Select the Actions menu.
  2. Select Edit.

Select the Downloads tab.

Under the media player, select the Downloads tab.

Deselect download format(s), then Save.

  1. From the Available Formats, uncheck any selected checkbox(es).
  2. Select Save.
