What is the Message of the Day?
In the Overview area of Home, view announcements from your system administrator in the Message Of The Day area.
The MOTD is typically used for system-wide announcements. Most institutions use this space to display messages about scheduled maintenance, system updates, and important dates and events.
View the Message Of The Day in Overview.
While viewing your Home site, select Overview. The Message Of The Day will open in the content area of the page.
Customizing your view of the Message Of The Day
Use the Options area to customize how the Message Of The Day in your system displays to you.
Click Options.
Select options and click Update.
- To view just the MOTD subject line, select Show Announcement subject; to view the entire body of the MOTD, select Show Announcement body.
- In the Number of days in the past field, enter how many days into the past you would like to view MOTDs. This is useful if you prefer to only see recently posted messages.
- Click Update.
View the Message Of The Day in Dashboard.
While viewing your Home site, select Dashboard. The Message Of The Day will open in the top part of the page.
Collapse the Message of the Day. (Optional)
If you would like to collapse the MOTD, click on the up arrow next to the Message of the Day heading.
Expand the Message of the Day. (Optional)
If you have previously collapsed the MOTD, you can expand it by clicking the down arrow next to the Message of the Day heading.
Note: When you refresh the Home page, your MOTD will automatically expand to show the current messages.
